Tinting 

 

 

What is brow tinting?

Brow tinting acts as a tone corrector for your brow hairs. It can make your brows appear darker / thicker as it will correct all the brow hairs to the same color. It is not an alternative to filling your brows in, in the way that it does not stain your skin, it only dyes the hair of the brow.

 

How long do brow and lash tints last?

Depending on your skin type / lifestyle and activity level, brow tints may last 2.5-4 weeks. Lash tints typically last 3-4 weeks. 

 

What exactly is a lash lift?

A lash lift replaces the need for a lash curler by curling your natural lashes at the root. This creates the appearance of longer, thicker lashes. A complimentary last tint is included to darken the lashes. The lash lift typically lasts for 6 to 8 weeks and takes approximately 60-75 minutes.

 

What do I need to do before my lash lift appointment?

Please arrive to your appointment without no eye makeup on and with your contacts removed. If you use a lash growth serum, please discontinue use for 3 days prior to your appointment.

 

 

Waxing

 

What kind of wax do you use?

We use hypoallergenic hard wax. 

 

How long does the hair have to be?

Your hair must be at least 1/4 inch long in order to get waxed (grain of rice) This equates to about 2.5 weeks from your last shave. 

 

Can I wax while I’m on my period?

While you are always welcome to get waxed during your cycle, please keep in mind that you might be more sensitive. Please wear a fresh tampon or menstrual cup while getting waxed. 

 

Can I wax while I’m pregnant?

Yes you can wax during pregnancy, as always check with your doctor if you have any concerns. 

 

How often should I get waxed?

Most clients choose to get waxed every 4 - 6 weeks, depending upon lifestyle / area of the body. 

 

What is the benefit of waxing vs shaving? 

When you consistently wax, you completely remove the hair from the follicle, which weakens the hair and in turn, your hair grows back slower, less thick and more sparse. When you shave, you trim the hair with a blunt tip which can reinforce a strong hair follicle. 

 

Can I wax if I have sensitive skin?

Absolutely - we use a hypoallergenic wax which is ideal for all skin types. 

 

Will my hair grow back darker and thicker?

This is a common myth in the waxing world! When you wax, you damage the follicle which makes the new hairs grow back softer and finer. 

 

 

Can I get waxed while using Retin A, Tretinoin, or Accutane?

You cannot get waxed while using / up to 6 months post use of Accutane. Please discontinue any retin a or tretinoin products (or anything related) for 1 week prior to any waxing appointments. These products increase the rate at which your skin exfoliates. Please alert your esthetician if you use any of these products. 

 

 

Policies 

 

Do you take walk-in appointments?

Unfortunately we cannot accommodate walk-in appointments at this time due to our full schedule. We encourage utilizing our online booking platform!

 

Can Someone Go in the Treatment Room With Me?

In order to provide the best experience possible, only the client and esthetician are allowed in the treatment room during an appointment. For clients under the age of 18, we invite a parent or guardian to be on hand.

 

Vagaro requires a credit/debit card on file to book an appointment, does this mean I will be charged when I book my appointment?

A debit/credit card is required to be on file to book any services. This is in accordance with our cancellation / no show policies. A fee is incurred when a client no shows their appointment, or if an appointment is canceled with less than 24 hour notice. If you give more than 24 hour notice of cancellation, you will not be charged. A credit card is required for all booking to ensure that your appointment is reserved. By booking, you authorize WAXED to charge your credit card a no-show fee of up to 100% of the scheduled value should you cancel/miss your visit without at least 24 hours of notification. 

 

What is WAXED’s cancellation policy?

WAXED is an appointment only studio. We ask for 24 hours notice when cancelling or rescheduling appointments to provide other clients an opportunity to book their appointments. Without providing 24 hours notice, clients who have been waiting to book with us will not have the opportunity to. A credit card is required for all booking to ensure that your appointment is reserved.

By booking, you authorize WAXED to charge your credit card a no-show fee of up to 100% of the scheduled value should you cancel/miss your visit without at least 24 hours of notification. Please arrive 5-10 minutes early for your appointment.
